Brian Johnson

Lead Guide

BJ, has been paddling for 24 years. His favorite saying is, "Folks, You can’t see this from your couch!"

BJ is Swiftwater Rescue certified and has his PADI Master Scuba Diver certification. He is a Wilderness Medical First Responder, and is CPR/AED certified. When he is not out on the water he is participating as a member of the Flathead County Search & Rescue Team, Flathead County Swiftwater Rescue Group. BJ recently retired as a sheriff's diver after 29 years of service.

Joli Johnson

Lead Guide

Joli loves to take guests out on tour! She has a passion for putting ginormous smiles on the faces of our visitors who are experiencing paddling on Flathead Lake for the first time! Joli also enjoys designing the marketing for Sea Me Paddle. We have guests from all around the globe and she thrives on reaching out to all of them!

Joli is Swiftwater Rescue certified and is Wilderness First Aid Certified, CPR and AED certified. When Joli is not on the water she is probably in her studio making something!

Chrissy Turk

Lead Guide

Chrissy was born and raised in sunny South Florida, but her career in the outdoor industry has taken her all over the country. In the past six years, Chrissy has guided or instructed on mountains in North Carolina and Montana, in lakes in Minnesota, and down rivers in New Hampshire, California, and Utah. No matter the activity, as long as Chrissy is outdoors and moving, she is happy. She has experience teaching rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, paddling, dog sledding, and backpacking!

Chrissy has a bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation Management, a Wilderness First Responder certification, completed SMP self-rescue and companion rescue training, and is a Leave No Trace trainer. She is continually searching for new ways to enjoy the outdoors and hopes to share her love for being outside with everyone she paddles with.

Hunter Oliver

Lead Guide

Hunter is originally from a small farm town near Kansas City, Missouri. He grew up hunting, fishing, foraging, and trapping in the land around his house where he developed a love for the outdoors. After studying Recreation, Sport, and Park Administration at Missouri State University, he moved up to Ely, Minnesota. He spent three years in Ely leading multi day canoeing trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. He spent his winters leading multi day dogsledding trips in the same area. After completing an 86 day, 1,250 mile canoe trip from Lake Superior to Hudson Bay, he moved here to the Whitefish area where he is excited to explore Flathead Lake.

Hunter has completed all SMP self and companion rescue training. He is also a Wilderness First Responder and is Leave No Trace trained.​

Justin loves spending time in Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley, but his true passion is in sharing it with others. With endless curiosity and a knack for story-telling, Justin strives to delight each guest serves. Justin has Wilderness First Responder and Avalanche training, and was a lawyer in a past life.

Daisy loves keeping other dogs "in line." She loves to supervise our guests and make sure that they get the kayak that is just right for them!

Summaries of Our Tours

Somers Bay Tour

Duration: 2 hrs

Level: Beginner

Food: No food is provided

Take a lively and fun paddle around Somers Bay of Flathead Lake, Montana and the bay's chain of Juniper Islands. Paddle in and around the historic pier system remaining from the 1900's Somers Lumber Company.

Somers Bay is sheltered and generally calm which makes it a perfect trip for young paddlers. Nature lovers will enjoy sighting mature and immature Bald Eagles along with Osprey and other native birds that inhabit the islands.

On a warm day, for extra fun, we might just stop for a quick swim in the sand flats or jump off the island!

Wild Horse Island Excursion

Duration: 5-6 hrs depending on speed

Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Food: Lunch and snacks are provided

Our most popular tour! Join us on a stunning kayak tour to and from beautiful and primitive Wild Horse Island on Flathead Lake! The rich wildlife diversity of Wild Horse Island makes it an excellent spot for observing and photographing nature. Among its inhabitants are bighorn sheep, mule deer, bald eagles,  osprey, and of course -a small herd of wild horses.

We provide a comfy kayak for every guest and all the gear to keep everyone safe while paddling. We also provide maps and all the information necessary for you to safely explore for 2 1/2 hours on Wild Horse Island. Your knowledgeable guide will paddle with you from our "put in" spot to/from Wild Horse Island.

Sunset Tour

Duration: 2 hrs

Level: Beginner

Food: No food is provided

Soak in the gorgeous rays as they reflect the stunning colors off the water in Somers Bay on Flathead Lake. Pinks, yellows and oranges will take you and a special someone's breath away. We will explore the Juniper Islands and the pier system in Somer's bay.

Cedar Island Pictograph Tour

Duration: 6 hrs depending on speed

Level: Advanced

Food: Lunch and snacks are provided

Paddle along the gorgeous shoreline of Flathead Lake Montana to Cedar Island. On the way, stop to view firsthand ancient Native American pictographs on the rocky cliff just off Angel Point. These are only visible only by boat, these pictographs were painted as early as the 1700s.

NOTE: This is a NINE MILE paddle round trip.

Upon reaching our destination, take a relaxing lunch break at the historic boat landing on Cedar Island and then visit the island's only homestead, circa the 1920s.

Explore the 23-acre island, enjoying the most brilliant color and absolute clarity on Flathead Lake before paddling back to the original launch location.
